Client
satisfaction is what keeps us going. If it weren't
for our clients we wouldn't have any measure of
just how successful our breedings have been. Clients
purchase puppies from us for many reasons, some
puppies are destined to be show dogs, some working
partners, and some have the best job of all....family
companion!
We
strive for puppies who can do anything that is asked
of them, to do this they must be of both sound body
and mind. Even a family companion benefits from
well-built parents, since good construction means
less chance of arthritis, dysplasia, vertebral degeneration,
and other related disorders. This is why we show...to
get the very necessary non-biased opinions on our
dogs that we need to be sure we are not suffering
from "kennel blindness".
The
other half of the puzzle though is a sound mind,
so vital in a busy family home, and yet how do we
judge temperament past the normal tests and observations
done while the puppies are still very young? As
highly motivated as we are to breed only the best
temperament, it is our clients who give us the vital
feed-back we require to know we are getting that
piece of the puzzle right. We thank all of our clients
for assisting us in this endeavour and have included
here a few excerpts of unsolicited letters and e-mails
which have been sent to us over the years.

Misa
Just
wanted to let you know that Misa finished her first
6 hours of training today. The trainer was so impressed
with her accomplishments that she gave Misa a "Star
Student" award!!! She really is a smart little
girl and I am very thankful that I was at Leslie's
the day she arrived!! I love her so much. The trainer,
Ms. Diane Rich, wanted me to pass along this message
to you as breeders. She has trained many of Leslie's
dogs and is very familiar with the breed. She raves
about what a great job Leslie has done with this breed
but she wanted you to know that, and these are her
words, "Misa is the best shiba I have ever worked
with as far a brains and disposition." Misa has
learned a couple of very advanced things for a pup
her age. I just wanted you to know what a wonderful
job you did of breeding and socialising her. Take
care and I will continue sending you updates on her
progress. |

Mak
Times
goes fast! Every day is a new experience! Mak is growing
like a young dog should...happy, full of life, getting
to know our environment. Met another Leonberger (5
years old), had his first kayak experience, loves
to play in the water and fish, loves sprinklers, loves
to travel, walks fairly well on the leash. Does well
with all the things he is learning (when he wants
to!!)
Hope all is well with you.
Best Regards, Trudy & Peter |

Balou
I
just thought I would write to tell you about our
good boy. I took Balou into the vet today for his
weigh-in, he weighs 23.5 kg at four months. After
the vet, we went to Ruskin Lake. Balou is a wonderful
swimmer, putting his head under water to retrieve
sticks. I decided since it was such a hot day I
would go for a swim too. Well...my little boy decided
I needed to be saved. He swam out to me and grabbed
me by my arm. I reminded him to be gentle. He loosened
his grip a bit and led me all the way into shore.
I am so proud of my brave little boy!
He is doing very well in Puppy Kindergarten too!
We have mastered most of the basics. We need to
work on "Stand Stay" as he is a very wiggly
happy boy and he tends to lay down on his sits.
I also taught him "Shake a Paw" (he shakes
the wrong paw though!) and "Speak".
I couldn't be any happier! He is a sweetheart!

Judah
We
spent a number of months researching to find the
perfect dog for our family and our Leo is far beyond
our best hopes. We were so blessed to find such
wonderful breeders close to home. Sheila has mentored,
and guided us all the way. Because of her knowledge
and teaching we feel that we are better equipped
to give our Leo a better home (I wish that we knew
this much when we started a family!).
Our boy Judah is now 19 weeks old is very intelligent,
easy going and is the delight and joy of our family.
He prefers all the family to be around him, likes
to talk and especially discuss his "disagreements",
loves his teddy and is a people person (he has wonderful
manners). The children at our church love his "Judah
children’s talks" which started when
he was 9 weeks old and he patiently lets them pet
and nuzzle him. People appreciate his "puppy
therapy" and say that petting him brightens
up their day. He certainly brightens up our lives.
We love our Leo!!
Regards
Timo,
Carolyn, Alix, Krista

Gyp
We have owned B Marry Gyp de Lemaitre since she was a puppy. When we started the therapy dog program here in Terrace, everyone told us that Gyp would be the dog for the program. How right they were! She loves going on her visits to see the seniors, and she is never happier than when sitting by their chairs having her ears scratched and being given the occasional treat.
She also works at home: She comes up to the house from our sawmill, finds me, and when I get the water bottle for her, she turns around and solemnly trots back down to the mill with the water bottle tied around her neck…Water delivery service for her Dad!! I bless the date you choose her for us, thank you Pierre and Sheila. |
